Week 1 was all about being wise. We discovered that the story of the Three Little Pigs is like the parable Jesus told about the wise man and the foolish man. Both stories talk about building houses; some built wisely, some did not. The parable in the Bible says that everyone who hears Jesus' words and obeys them is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. We cannot just hear God's word. Reading the Bible isn't enough. We must do what the Bible tells us to do.
Think about it this way: If you want to turn a fan on to cool yourself, you must first plug it in. The fan by itself is useless until we plug it in. It's the same way with God's word. We must plug it into our lives by obeying what God commands.
