But we're not quitters who lose out. Oh, no!
We'll stay with it and SURVIVE, trusting all the way.

Week 4 - Honesty

I shared with you last week at Camp Character that I have a twin sister.  We are identical twins which means that we look a lot alike.  In fact, people often thought I was my sister because we looked so much alike.  Our Bible story last week was about a set of twins--Jacob and Esau.  Jacob and Esau were NOT identical twins.  They didn't look alike at all, but with the help of his mother, Jacob tricked his father to make him believe he was his brother Esau by wearing his clothes and putting hair on his hands--all so he could get his father's blessing.  Jacob lied to his father not just once, but twice.  Jacob's lie hurt his father, it made his brother Esau so mad that Jacob had to leave home, and his mother lost her favorite son.  I think Jacob learned that lying doesn't pay.

The campers decided that we should tell the truth because when you tell the truth, people can trust you and you don't have to keep telling lies to cover the first lie.  Let's be like George Washington when he was caught cutting down the cherry tree and say, "I cannot tell a lie. You know I cannot tell a lie."
